Jupiter's Former Cemex Site Changes

The former Cemex property at 1666 N. Old Dixie Highway could be getting a new use.

The site has been vacant since the former industrial buildings were demolished in 2024. On July 14, the Jupiter Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a land use change that would allow two new professional office and warehouse buildings on the property. The proposal still needs Town Council approval, with votes scheduled for August 18 and September 15.

The property sits along the Old Dixie Highway corridor, where commercial and industrial uses already exist. Instead of adding another residential development, the plan would replace the vacant site with new commercial space and put the property back into active use.

For nearby homeowners, the main thing to watch is what ultimately gets approved, including the size of the buildings, access, traffic, landscaping, and how the site is buffered from surrounding neighborhoods.

I will keep following the proposal as it moves through Town Council.
