The Town of Jupiter is moving forward with its own independent fire and rescue department, officially separating from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
Over the last 24 hours, both CBS12 and WPTV confirmed that Jupiter has been granted the necessary Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity. The new department is expected to begin operations on October 1, 2026, with Palm Beach County continuing service until then.
The town is already preparing, ordering equipment, and planning station locations to be ready by launch.
It is a big shift in how emergency services will be handled locally, and it could have long-term effects on residents and property owners.
