The headlines make it sound like Florida may simply cut property taxes for homeowners, but the fine print is where this gets interesting. Under the current proposal, Florida’s homestead exemption could increase significantly for qualifying primary residences, with reports describing a jump from roughly $50,000 to $250,000.

Something worth knowing if you own or plan to purchase waterfront property in Jupiter: At a certain price point, the house basically does not matter. If you are sitting on a premium waterfront lot and the home is small, old, or has low ceilings, a serious buyer is probably not
