Big Changes to Tequesta's Private Clubs
There are two private golf clubs along Country Club Drive. Both are about to look very different.
Tequesta Country Club is replacing its original 1957 clubhouse with a new 24,232 square foot coastal inspired clubhouse. Plans also include a new cart barn, upgraded landscaping, and site improvements. The club plans to close during the main construction period, with reopening currently targeted around August 2027.
Just up the road, Turtle Creek Club has budgeted $12.8 million for a major course renovation. The plan calls for every green to be rebuilt to USGA specifications. It also includes new irrigation, drainage, rebuilt bunkers, repaired lake banks, and a larger driving range. Construction is scheduled to begin April 1, 2028, with the course expected to reopen in November, weather permitting. The club says it does not anticipate a member assessment.
Why should homeowners nearby care?
These projects will not automatically make every home more valuable. But golf and club access are major reasons buyers choose this area. Once completed, both projects should give the surrounding neighborhoods a stronger selling point against newer golf communities in Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens.
There will be construction and disruption first. Long term, the area gets two significantly improved private clubs.
If you own near either club and want my honest take on what this could mean for your property, reply “club.” I will look at your exact home and location.
